Suiting wool in a complex mottled colour: a dark grey ground flecked with brown, lilac and copper. A dark band with a pink line runs along the selvage. The surface is lively and a little tweedy, so the fabric looks more interesting than an ordinary plain one.
What to sew: A small piece like this works well for a skirt, a waistcoat or a flat cap. Mottled cloth needs no complex cut and goes easily with cream, burgundy and dark green. Steam the wool before sewing so it settles. More in the article «Suiting wool».
